Network Administrator

Position Overview
The Network Administrator has an understanding of network topologies and has the ability to configure and support equipment that is necessary for the operation of the corporate network. Tasks will primarily focus on working with Cisco devices such as switches and routers, as well as wireless technologies.
Responsibilities
Must be able to....
Configures, supports, monitors, tests, and troubleshoots hardware and software situations pertaining to the network (LAN, WAN & wLAN)
Performs repairs and routine maintenance on network hardware and software including Routers, switches, firewalls
Wireless Access Points
Servers
Provides end user support for all Networkbased applications
Creates and maintains network documentation
Assesses network security and prevents unauthorized connection attempts
Helps maintain email management
Assists in Domain Name Service management
Opens and follows up on cases with outside technical support

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Minimum Essential Qualifications...
Possesses general understanding of concepts, procedures and protocols pertaining to network topologies, such as Ethernet and TCP/IP, including Cisco hardware/software
Proficient with PCs and related software
Good written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to work well with others
Able to handle more than one task simultaneously
Able to follow instructions and preestablished guidelines to perform the functions of the job
Works well under supervision but able to work independently as when required
Able to write simple scripts for monitoring and routine maintenance purposes
Maintains an ongoing interest in developing expertise in the networking field
Generally, spend the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as, but not limited to keyboard, mouse and screen
Generally, spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body
