Controller Validation Engineer

Description

Overview As a Controller Validation Engineer, you will develop and in some cases execute, validation plans for controllers used on all Customer vehicles. The validation plans will be used to test the robustness of Customer vehicle controllers against software requirements.
Essential duties and responsibilities 1. Works with Lead Control System Engineers to understand software requirement functionality.
2. Review software requirements written by Lead Control System Engineers to ensure testability is achievable.
3. Utilize PTC Integrity, and the Customer Electrical Development process to write controller test cases traced to software requirements.
4. Execute, or manage execution of, the validation plan for each assigned software release, in order to meet validation coverage requirements and project timelines.
5. Other duties as required
Education, Skills and Knowledge 1. B.S. or higher in Electrical or Computer Engineering required
2. Experience with design and/or implementation of controls, especially related to vehicle controls/diagnostics/communication preferred.
3. Experience with software and/or hardware V&V efforts including MIL/SIL/HIL, other low level software verification, and related documentation required.
4. Experience with DFMEA, SFMEA, and Functional Safety strongly desired.
5. Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced development environment required
6. Experience in effective problem solving and troubleshooting required
7. Experience with communication networks required, CAN and J1939 strongly preferred
9. Familiarity with requirement and test case management in any requirement/software development database application as well as configuration management required.
10. Experience in project management strongly preferred
