DEPARTMENT/TEAM DESCRIPTION The team Translational Science Systems is globally responsible for design and build activities for R&D in the domains of bioinformatics, clinical sciences and computational life sciences for all divisions. We provide new IT solutions, which fit to the overall R&D system landscape architecture, and add value to the R&D functions by implementing standard software, tailored solutions as well as new technologies around artificial intelligence and machine learning, semantic data integration, natural language processing and advanced analytics. POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Contribute to the design and development of new applications and prototypes contribute to microservicebased architectures set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines Automate the building, testing, configuration and provisioning of networks of services/servers propose improvements and explain technical solutions and their implications to your project team work with internal customers, colleagues and sometimes a software vendor to find the optimal solution REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES Education Requirement(s) Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or any STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) related majors with 3 years experience OR Masters Degree OR 5 years relevant work experience Skill & Competency Requirements IT professional with experience in microservices, docker, cloud services and technologies, test and deployment automation, Linux administration, etc... Relevant experience with o git, CI/CD, o InfrastructureasCode, o configuration management, o automation (Puppet, Serverspec, Terraform, Packer, OpenStack / AWS, Cloudformation or equivalent) Experience with distributed or federated infrastructure environments and systems Ability to work in intercultural and interdisciplinary teams Preferences Have a keen interest in biology and have an affinity to natural sciences. You have some experience in application development or scripting (Python, Shell) Also interested in operations, not only development
