Description Roles & Responsibilities Provides application development services typically as a of a project team or in an application support role. Developers analyze, design, code, test and implement systematic solutions to meet customer requirements that adhere to Highmark IT standards and policies. Developers provide general support to maintain applications that meet the service levels, system availability, performance and quality levels required by their customers.
1. Responsible for analyzing, designing, coding, testing and implementing application enhancements, as well as providing general production support, meeting defined scope, target dates and budgets with minimal or no defects.
2. Utilizes and participates in the full system development life cycle, per current Highmark SDLC standards.
3. Collaborates with customers, business analysts, partners, and IT team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. Concentrates on providing innovative solutions to business needs.
4. Designs, develops, automates, and supports complex applications to extract, transform, and load data. Ensures data quality. Develops logical and physical dataflow models for ETL applications.
5. Codes, tests, implements, and automates complex processes. Plans and conducts ETL unit and development tests; monitors results and takes corrective action.
6. Provide complex analysis, conceptualize, design, implement and develop solutions for critical components..
Experience and Exposure Required 5 8 years of experience in Information Technology
Experience in Healthcare or Health Insurance Industry
Been a part of at least 2full Informatica ETL projects.
35 years of development experience in Informatica, DB2, Unix
Extensive experience in designing and developing of complex mappings, applying various transformations such as lookup, source qualifier, update strategy, router, sequence generator, aggregator, rank, stored procedure, filter, joiner and sorter transformations
Experience in designing automation processes to control data access, transformation, and movement. Ensures source system data availability and update accessibility, data integrity, restart ability, and error handling.
Experience in integration of data sources like DB2 and Flat Files into the staging area
Good knowledge in identifying performance bottlenecks and also in tuning the Mappings and Sessions
Good knowledge in designing audit / logging metadata for capturing operational metrics (runtime failures, record counts) and integrating with ETL flows for auto recovery, restart ability from point of failure
Experience in any scripting language like perl, shell to be used for automating data cleansing, data reformatting
Working knowledge of DB2, SQL Stored Procedures, Physical Modeling (partitioning, indexing), Triggers, and data querying optimization.
Good understanding of RDBMS, ER, 3rd n forms, OLAP dimensional Models
Should have hands on experience in ActiveOS and should be comfortable coordinating with the Data Custodians for various Business Process Management (BPM) solutions.
Need to have proficiency in Java/EJB/XML/SOAP
