Database Developer(SQL & PL/SQL)

POSITION SUMMARY
A Senior Database Developer demonstrates expert SQL and PL/SQL programming skills applied to department and customer objectives and requirements. The Senior Database Developer works with quality assurance, software designers, software engineers, and senior managers to develop new and improve existing system features and maintain current system and industry requirements and manage enhancements to the Casino Management System (SYNKROS) and related systems as necessary.
This position also requires the flexibility to act autonomously at all times while adhering to overall department and company policies and procedures.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
Writes, tests, debugs/troubleshoots, and maintains the source code of computer programs.
Applies strong SQL and PL/SQL experience to code new and enhanced development objectives.
Provides development recommendations for SYNKROS identifying future enhancements to functional capability within the SYNKROS product line.
Analyze objectives and problems specified by engineers and/or designers and create innovative, highly effective solutions.
Ability to write efficient, complex queries against very large data sets.
Ability to model, analyze and manage large volumes of data.
Researches, designs and develops system software in conjunction with Senior Managers and the SYNKROS enhancement review committee
Authors functional and operational specifications for proposed enhancements to SYNKROS resulting from customer request, strategic analysis and developer recommendations.
Analyzing needs and product requirements to create a design.
Determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
Manages design and development recommendations for SYNKROS and related systems.
Coordinate testing scripts, documentation, and release deployment schedule with quality assurance, training and documentation departments.
Manages an assigned segment of the SYNKROS development schedule in a manner that successfully meets difficult technical challenges and ensures completion of tasks within the SDLC. Provides mentoring and oversight on database development best practices, functional development, KGI coding practices and company policies and procedures. Assists the Manager, Database Admin Services in conducting design and code reviews.
Troubleshoots and diagnoses client issues and coordinates with the R&D team resolve in a timely manner.
Good customer service and communication skills. Must be comfortable interacting with clients and internal staff.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION BSEE or BSCE in Computer Sciences, Engineering, or a related field from fouryear college or university
WORK EXPERIENCE 10 or more years experience as an Oracle SQL PL/SQL programmer with design and architecture experience. High degree of knowledge and understanding of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL. Experience working with the demands of a 24x7 Real Time computer system. Experience writing database side code for a Java client application. Gaming experience is a plus.
