Description

Facilitates the tactical and operational elements of the Global Data Synchronization (GDS) and workflows for Canada. This person must have strong working knowledge in SAP GDS and understanding of the data management processes including established linkages with SAP ECC, SAP MDM, SAP GDS and other downstream capabilities and functions to ensure data quality (accuracy and completeness), and integration drivers. This individual must have the knowledge and analytical skills to help drive process excellence and data quality improvements. This position will be responsible for daily monitoring of data to proactively identify and resolve issues in a timely manner. This position requires strong technical skills, understanding of data management, and maintaining strong functional relationships with internal/external Sales Teams, Brand Teams, R&D, customers, Global/Regional data standards organizations and GS1 the Industry Standards board for GDS and GTIN allocation rules.
This position requires subject matter expertise in data management best practices, interpretation and usage of GTIN/GS1 standards and all GDS requirements and validation rules. Fully operational in SAP functionality; interface/interoperability with specification systems; trade management systems, and downstream reporting applications. Additionally, this position provides project support, training, problem resolution and analysis. Experience with data integrity tools and cross system reporting required coupled with delivery of data quality assessments and continuous improvement programs.Il. 1. Lead data quality issue resolution related to targeted data sets related to GDS, data flow integrity, audits and controls for customer, product, pricing, and hierarchy information across business functions to ensure a smooth flow to the GDS process and out to Customers.2. Key contributor in leading multiple cross functional groups including Customer Development, Supply Chain, R&D and Brand Teams to identify, to drive innovations and facilitate data management activities for new product innovations. Drives process excellence and data quality improvements for the Global Data Synchronization process.3. Lead role in ensuring that Unilever GDS team/process follows best practices and we interpret the use of global and industry specific standards in the way they were intended.4. Maintain 90%+ accuracy on product information, descriptions and images in support of the GDS process. This requires engagement in all product innovations, and renovations.5. Provides assessment of knowledge gaps for the Data Management Team to implement programs to close the gaps including process improvement opportunities for the end to end GDS process.
