JOB DESCRIPTION
The main function of the role is to be a key resource of our big data team and to plan and manage production handoff to our support and DBA teams. The primary focus is to standup our data warehouse and data lake platform into the Wyndham AWS environment, optimize the environments, processes and support. As a Dev/Ops Engineer you will work with the other members of the team to focus on availability, automation, scaling, performance and security. The role will drive operational change within the organization and get our data platforms performing.
Abilities / Key Competencies/Skills
Experience implementing on big data related services like Redshift, S3, EMR/Spark and DynamoDB. Knowledge of AWS deployments and policies.
Must be selfmotivated, able to work independently and highly responsible in maintaining time critical projects schedule effective verbal and written skills,
Familiarity with data lake architecture in AWS.
Experience working with data modeling, data movement and ETL tools.
Be hands on to build, deploy and run our AWS data ecosystem
Document and provide knowledge transfer and education to our production DBA and support teams
