Description
Responsibilities Develops strategies for data acquisitions, archive recovery, and implementation of a database.
Design and develop Databases, Data Warehouses and Multidimensional Databases
Design the ETL processes to ensure the optimized flow of data within the organization along with error handling strategies.
Develop and maintain a formal description of the data and data structures including the data models, data flow diagrams, data dictionaries and technical metadata.
Work directly with all application development teams to ensure that data is aligned between systems
Create and implement the corporate data strategy including data security, data retention and data stewardship
Work directly with the Data Governance team to ensure that data policies are aligned throughout the organization.
Monitor and guide design of a semantically rich business model of the enterprise domain, independent of any technology solution
Work closely with business analysts, endusers, all other IT groups on delivering common solutions and effectively utilizing existing skills and resources.
Identify risks, communicate status to all stakeholders, manage scope and delivery
Encourage and empower others to achieve, creating enthusiasm and a desire to excel
Promote an environment of innovation and experimentation
Lead organizational change and deliver business results by working across the organization and developing employees
Coach, mentor, and develop team members.
Maintain an environment that focuses on excellent customer service. Build and maintain relationships with business partners and work collaboratively with them to ensure a high level of satisfaction.
Experience Required 10 15 years of BI/DW and data architecture experience.
Familiarity with development methodologies including the AGILE development approaches
5 years P&C Insurance experience
5+ Years experience in data warehousing
3+ Years experience with MS SSIS
Strong PL/SQL development experience with the ability to write and optimize complex and nested SQL queries
Data warehouse modeling experience and strong schema design knowledge (Star, snowflake, multidimensional)
Competencies Experience working in a software development environment
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and 2012
