Description Akua is looking for an ambitious and talented individual to fill the role of Sr. Embedded Engineer. In this role you will develop and enhance AKUA IoT container security and cargo products. The ideal embedded engineer is one with deep embedded programming expertise writing bare metal code that interacts with numerous integrated onboard devices (SoC) including GPS, GSM, RF, Zigbee, WiFi on ARM processors. As the development SME, this individual possesses excellent firmware development expertise, and an excellent grasp of the development processes required to produce stable and reliable firmware suitable for deployment to the customer. Responsibilities Develop a new Akua product which integrates with current hardware and Zigbee enabled sensors. This will be developed in C on ARM cortex hardware. Facilitate integration, test and deployment with other Akua partners. Support other software and test teams with deployment of new customer features Mentor junior software developers Qualifications/Must Have Skills 3+ years of industry system and embedded programming expertise in C and Assembly. Demonstrated skill programming in Embedded C/C++ (realtime apps and or RTOS) Data communications applications development, TCP protocol, and network dev experience. Experience with ARM Cortex application development Familiarity with Nordic semiconductor products Successful history of delivering embedded development applications Experience with full software lifecycle development and deployment across various development methodologies Experience developing applications utilizing Zigbee (802.15) Power management experience Desired Characteristics/These Will Set You Apart for this Role Masters or bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field. Demonstrated experience in development of customer facing products Experience implementing secure encrypted communications interfaces AWS cloud computing experience Experience developing low power embedded applications UDP/MQTT experience Experience developing secure embedded applications or performing vulnerability research and analysis Experience with ARM Cortex encryption libraries Mobile development experience Linux driver development experience
