Description
As a mainframe developer worked for automobile company on a stop sale system. The system is required to improve the process to deter the selling of recalled vehicle by the dealer. The system identifies the New, CPO and USED vehicles which have a open safety recall. The system ensures that dealers are informed of the stop sale against a vehicle; while making a sale dealers should be able to sell a vehicle with certain overrides.
Define new DB2 and Oracle tables to have store the safety recall data for each vehicle
Code COBOL BATCH programs for the daily update of remedy tables from vendor data
Modify CICS programs to retrieve data in XML format for web application
The system is developed with Agile methodology, with onshore/offshore developers
Attend daily scrums and update JIRA tasks for user stories
Mainframe COBOL Developer
As a mainframe developer for automobile company, participate in the analysis of the mainframe legacy system for the warranty system. The system helps the auto dealers sell the extended warranty for new cars, and a CPO program for used cars. The objective is to convert the legacy system with a Salesforce system which would define the types of the programs dealer can sell. The new system needs to access data from the mainframe through IIB and MQ environment.
Extensive use of MQ to get data from Salesforce and process on the mainframe
Design and develop a new auto warranty system. Elicited requirements from the user. Analyze current batch and CICS system and ensured that all functionalities would be included in the new system.
The system is developed with Agile methodology, with onshore/offshore developers
Document the design and appropriate artifacts using UML diagrams
Front end of the system for dealers was Java based accessed through the Web. For customer service employees the front end was developed in CICS.
Code and test COBOL CICS DB2 programs.
Code COBOL BATCH programs to Extract and Transform data that loaded into Data Warehouse
Code COBOL BATCH programs to update DB2 tables from various Vendors using XML format.
Code COBOL CICS programs to update DB2 tables by access MQ generated by other department
Use AQT tools to access Oracle Data Warehouse for testing
Participate in QA testing by using ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) bug tracking software
