Description

Job description As a senior mainframe Developer, you will support a critical, highly scalable, highly available application for Enterprise Systems. You will help to address, investigate and resolve queries/issues relating to this application and identify opportunities for improvements.
Responsibilities Analysis, investigation and resolution of application issues/queries in a COBOL, JCL, Syncsort, VSAM, CICS, MQ mainframe environment. Understand the system flow and business processes relating to the application. Keep an eye out to identify patterns of issues/root causes as well as opportunities for improvements/enhanced CX/UX. Participate in day to day activities involving design review, test with productioncopy data, and support deployment. Participate in application security and compliance reviews/audits. Learn relevant new technologies and apply them towards Verizons transformation in terms of digitization, automation, system consolidation, databased processes and algorithms. Required Skills Bachelors degree or four or more years of work experience. Six or more years of relevant work experience. Experience developing applications using COBOL, JCL, Syncsort, VSAM, CICS, MQ Experience handling complete product releases from development, integration, testing, to production. Nice To Have Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Electronics or Electrical Engineering. Experience with Webservice Development like SOAP and REST. Experience with agile development. Experience with DevOps tools. Experience/knowledge on data science/technologies/tools. Technical leadership, aptitude and communication skills
