Postgres Developer

Description

Required skills Proficient in database design, modeling, and development, using SQL
Experience with PL/SQL programming (preferably Postgres PL/pgSQL) and also with Triggers and Views
Ability to improve performance of highvolume/highavailability of a database
Good understanding database migration e.g. how to convert specific Oracle SQL and PL/SQL to Postgres SQL and PL/pgSQL
Experience with scripting languages (Bash, KornShell) on a variety of computing platforms (Windows, Linux)
Experience with configuration management tools (SVN, GIT)
Knowledge of DB Integrated Development Environment (IDE) such as SQL Developer
Experience with Unit testing and performance testing
Ability to work with resources in different timezones
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred skills Experience with database deployment on public cloud virtual machines (VM) such as Azure cloud
Good knowledge of the Agile process e.g. SCRUM
Knowledge of Cloud based DB i.e. DBaaS
Knowledge of continuous integration practices and build processes (e.g. Jenkins)
Knowledge of Java (or any other OO programing languages) is an asset
