Description and details Splunk Administrator for clients Digital & Technology Team. Help build and support Splunk infrastructure for the client.
Looking for a Splunk Administrator with proven experience in implementing, automating, improving, and administering Splunk deployments and infrastructure, within a multiplatform environment (Cloud & Datacenter). Individuals applying should be familiar with deployments of Splunk Enterprise software, lookups, field extractions, dashboard creation and performance optimization. This role is on the Digital & Technology Team, which is focused on providing leadingedge systems engineering solutions for client.
Current suite of tools includes, but are not limited to Splunk Enterprise suite of tools for logging and monitoring
Infrastructure automation tools to build, maintain Splunk infrastructure and software.
Graphite for timebased system metrics and monitoring.
Sensu/Nagios for custom infrastructure monitoring and alerting.
Responsibilities/Deliverables that the resource will be responsible for Perform installation, monitoring, testing, configuration, migration, maintenance and troubleshooting of assigned technologies.
Ensure that the technologies and architecture are uptodate, stable, and compliant, meeting enterprise and security standards.
Proactively monitor and report performance and utilization of assigned technologies.
Troubleshoot software and/or hardware issues & failures.
Resolve alerts and perform remediation activities.
Provide input into infrastructure architecture designs.
What would a normal day for this position look like
Perform installation, monitoring, testing, configuration, migration, maintenance and troubleshooting of the Splunk infrastructure.
Work with infrastructure provisioning tools such as Chef, Vagrant, and TestKitchen.
Collaboratively working with, and taking direction from, a Senior Engineer.
Status updates and meetings.
Top five skills and number of years of experience required to perform this job 8+ years of experience in a technical field or equivalent.
5+ years administering Splunk on an enterprise level.
Experience and familiarity with IT management processes and software products, networking, server, application monitoring, security patching and/or web technologies.
Ability to multitask and solve complex technical problems
Experience working in a multiserver environment.
Splunk training and/or certifications.
Preferred/nice to have skills BA/BS degree.
Linux shell scripting and/or regex experience
Experience with container technology Docker, UCP or Kubernetes.
Experience with Ansible, Puppet, Chef.
Experience with using scripting languages to automate tasks and manipulate data.
Experience in interacting with customers as well as onboarding, configurating, and optimizing Enterprise Splunk.
Strong preference for those with extensive experience architecting, developing, deploying, configuring and administering Splunk deployments.
