Management of the overall ABAP development pipeline, which encompasses 4 offshore resources and themselves.
Proactively track the anticipated submissions of Functional Technical Specifications from functional leads. Hold functional leads accountable for their planning.
Review and enrich the FTS with the functional owner to ensure gaps are addressed. Ensure the offshore team is setup for success.
Assign development to ABAP staff, based upon utilization recognition.
Daily manage the progress of all development with the offshore staff.
Ensure communication between the functional owner and assign ABAP resource is fluid during the development cycle. Insert yourself to ensure gaps are filled.
Ensure status of development are transparent and communicated to all stakeholders on a timely basis.
Hold ABAP developers accountable for estimates and deliverables. Identify poor performers and support resource swaps.
Perform a timely review of the functional owners L2 delivery schedules.
Recognize the expected development. Work with the functional leads to creatively align the schedule to meet both project objectives and available ABAP capacity.
On a weekly basis, build a 4week capacity forecast based upon latest schedule. This should highlight capacity constraints to which need to be creatively addressed.
For situations where capacity is an issue that cant be creatively solved, work with AMS team to potentially solve. Highlight situation to PMO management.
With good data, make recommendations for opportunities to add additional ABAP resources.
