Description

Qualifications:
1.Bachelor's degree in computer science or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education
2. At least 6+ years of experience with Information Technology

Job Description
The candidate will be part of Configuration and Integration including Health component in this role.
* The ability to manage drivers and firmware release patching in environment by adopting the ones having least failure rate.
Reason for release patch can be Health (any specific issue being fixed by the new driver), Latest windows feature update,
Information security asks for addressing any specific vulnerability, Driver enhances device's performance
* Update driver detection from a variety of sources through continual monitoring of the system as a whole. These can be self-detection /monitoring, or from outside companies, business units, or other teams.
* Update frequency can be at least once a year, handle efficiently multiple platform drivers update as one patch package to limit disruption and reboots for end users
* The goal is to drive the fault rates as low as possible and let those versions remain for at least 12 months if possible.
* Expected to own the lower level stack of the PC's for all models supported in the environment (typically ~40+ models).
* Expert in any or multiple domains such as WLAN, Graphics, Firmware etc...
* Proactive checking for the need to make a change in the environment from a variety of data points, assessing the risks/tradeoffs of that change, prioritizing and driving the release of fix most needed
* Drive KPI's for respective domain
* The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements

Key Roles & Responsibilities:
* Monitoring day-to-day performance of tech systems; Diagnose, debug and troubleshoot tech problems;
Manage allowable fault rates on the platform as per client standards
* Hands-on experience with specific hardware, software;
Minimize degradation of performance by working with vendor to improve performance with their driver stack
* Define KPI's needed for Health and validation team to measure
* Periodic engagements with HP, Dell, Lenovo, or Microsoft to troubleshoot issues occurring in the environment;
Analyzing driver advisories for impacts to the PC fleet
* Smoke Testing Potential Driver Candidates for release and analyzing the potential impacts to performance

Mandatory Skills
* Strong understanding of Windows Internals - Win-10;
General PC Architecture, OS Architecture, Firmware and Driver Architecture/ Framework
* Expert in Sysinternals suite; Wind DBG and Performance Analyzer; Analyze BSODs, event logs;
Knowledge of Windows Performance recorder, and Windows Performance Analyzer
* Understanding of Windows Panther Logs; Ability to use available Microsoft and 3rd party tools to analyze PC failures and performance issues; determine root cause
* Domain expertise and knowledge: WLAN Network Protocols, Audio, Graphics Standards, Firmware/CSME/TPM.
* Drive Health KPIs and validation metric definitions; Platform hardware maintenance
* Identify, Assess, and drive implementation of changes to the drivers and Firmware deployed in the environment.
* Package creation and management for easy patch updates
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to create clear and concise documentation
* Windows Telemetry
