SAP Project Systems Functional Analyst

Siemens has an immediate need to hire an SAP Project Systems (PS) functional consultant. The consultant needs to have strong experience with Project Systems specifically with: Project planning creation project builder monitoring engineering networks production networks shipping networks. Most of the sites have some manufacturing so familiarity with the following modules and processes are also required: 1. Production planning production order processing demand management MRP 2. Purchasing warehouse and inventory management inventory valuation 3. Materials Management 4. Quality Management including inspections and planning 5. An understanding of project budgeting costing and forecasting and business experience in executing project cost reviews 6. Added value: experience using Kronos as a shop floor timekeeping system 7. Added value: project planning within networks (not using interfaced tools like MS Project or Primavera) . Overview of initiative: 1. Project Scope: Siemens Gas and Power is currently executing a templated SAP rollout project (Verold) to bring the legacy Dresser-Rand business units onto their existing SAP ECC6.0 platform (ATLAS). This project is well underway and we are transitioning from a system design phase with a smaller centralized group of business users (named the Process Team) to a much larger group of key users at each site in preparation for two rounds of testing end user training a go-live in October and 4-months of hypercare after go-live.

Description

1. Senior level SAP functional analyst with experience working in a highly customized SAP envt.

2. Strong SAP Project Systems (PS) exp. Exp with following areas:
- Project planning, creation, project builder, monitoring, engineering networks, production networks, shipping networks.
- As most of the sites have some manufacturing, familiarity with the following modules and processes are also required:
a. Production planning, production order processing, demand management, MRP
b. Purchasing, warehouse and inventory management, inventory valuation
c. Materials Management
d. Quality Management including inspections and planning
e. An understanding of project budgeting, costing, and forecasting and business
experience in executing project cost reviews

Responsibilities

• Siemens needs to supplement our centralized team with a strong business analyst who can help us deploy the project level processes and SAP knowledge out to the sites as follows for their functional area:
• - Learn the “Verold” processes and SAP ATLAS functionality from the Process team and our support colleagues in the US and Europe
• - Learn the needs of the business at a site and functional level
• - Coach and mentor the business to apply the ATLAS functionality and Verold processes at their site, making process efficiency suggestions as needed to make the global solution “fit for purpose” at each site. Please note that configuration changes will be strictly limited, and this role should not focus on configuring or customizing the current plant setups.
• - Assist the project team in identifying business requirements and development of use cases and business process flows
• - Assist the project team with the identification and documentation of potential gaps found during deployment and testing
• - Assist with system testing, troubleshooting and documentation of any system related issues
• - Assist with data migration reviews and reconciliations
• - Assist with training material preparation and review

Educational Requirements

• - Broad experience using or implementing SAP ECC 6.0
• - Legal authorization to work in the US for any US employer.
• - A Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field
• - A minimum of 5 years professional experience
• - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for issue identification, assist with root cause analysis of the issue and potential issue resolution within the template to be implemented
• - Strong experience in business process analysis and redesign
• - Must be a team player and be able to build consensus with others
• - Ability and discipline to self-manage assignments to meet deadlines, scope and budget
• - Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills
• - Ability to work individually, as a member of a functional team, and part of a global team - The willingness and ability to travel, including internationally (Germany or Canada)
