SAP Solutions Architect

Description

Act as a liaison between Technical team, Functional team, Business Functions, and System Integrators to drive architecture solutions
Perform hands-on solution design, solution architectures, architecture roadmaps, prototyping, proof-of-concepts, and development tasks
Provides solution architectures spanning highly complex processes, systems, applications and technologies and 3rd party software integrations
Develop holistic solutions that address integration architecture, data architecture, and system performance across SAP and multiple other 3rd party software integrations
Ensure solution is scalable, sustainable and meets overall business requirements and adopts latest technologies and practices
Provides clear options, measures of performance and assessments for architectures to the program, project and product teams as required
Document and proficiently explain complex architectures at any level of detail to any and all levels of the organization
Review and advise on Test plan and test cases for completeness
Lead Solution Architecture reviews with program and product teams prior to design and development activities and ensure solution is scalable, is aligned with internal product roadmaps and meets customers business requirements
Mentor, coach and lead either directly or indirectly additional team resources as necessary and assist technical developers and other solution architects in understanding solutions
Document business, functional and technical requirements, design and architecture diagrams
Participate in thought leadership and vendor relationships
Work in a virtual team across distance (remote) cultures and time zones, in a matrix with multiple reporting lines, with on-shore and off-shore resources, and may extend outside the Company organization including suppliers, partners, and trade customers
Consult on master data management
Other duties as assigned

Responsibilities

• Understanding of accounting concepts and core Finance business processes is not required but would be an asset.
• Excellent organization, logic, and analytical skills with a very strong aptitude for problem solving
• Proven ability to apply agile concepts and methodology to ensure technology solutions are flexible to meet changing business needs
• Knowledge of various IT development practices (ex: Agile, Waterfall, etc.) and tools (ex: JIRA, ServiceNow, etc.).
• Ability to successfully interface with all levels and areas of the organization. Establish close working relationships with key areas of interface.
• Ability to comprehend new technology strengths and weaknesses in order to effectively match technology to possible business solutions
• Able to express information through strong verbal and written communications
• Enthusiastic team player; productive working independently or as part of a team

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required with strong academic record in Accounting or IT-related field of study
• 8-15 years of progressive work experience in a technical/system related role
• Prior implementation experience as a Solution Architect with SAP S/4HANA
• Proven experience in large enterprise systems design - Object oriented analysis and design
• Experience in database and data design
• Hands on architecture documentation experience
• Experience with SAP Finance/Billing/Purchasing solutions (ex: BRIM, Ariba, Leasing, Treasury, etc).
• Certification related to working with the HANA DB
• Experience integrating with Mainframe
• Experience working with AWS Cloud or other Cloud technologies
• Excellent knowledge of relational databases, SQL and ORM technologies (Hibernate)
• RESTful APIs design and development

Experience Requirements

• The client is embarking on a replacement of our enterprise ERP including our Financial systems (General Ledger, Account Payable, Accounts Receivable, basic Procurement, Treasury, and Billing). This role will partner with the Solution Architect from the System Integrator to design and implement SAP S4/Hana Cloud Platform.
• This person and their team will work closely with stakeholders from the Global Finance community as well as firm management and other global departments.
• This role will provide expertise covering all aspects of the application lifecycle (implementation, operations, and optimization). You'll understand the business requirements from end to end and how those are embedded within the technology, as well as the integration points and flow of information from any upstream system into SAP, through the various modules, and then out to other systems that rely on SAP financial data.
