Description

Manage SQL Server databases
Configure and maintain database servers and processes
Monitor system's health and performance
Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability and security
Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time
Provide suggestions for solutions
Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement
Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems
Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours
· Ability to create an efficient physical database design from a logical data model and application specifications.

· Be able to translate a data model into a physical database implementation and manage the database after implementation.

· Implementation of robust backup and recovery procedures.

· Proactively monitor the database environment and make recommendations/changes necessary to optimize performance.

· In-depth SQL knowledge for ability to review SQL and recommend changes for optimization.

· Implementation of rigorous security infrastructure for production and test databases, along with a database auditing capability to document compliance.

· Ability to predict growth based on application and data usage patterns and to implement the necessary database changes to accommodate the growth.

This position will play a lead role in participating in the design, development, and implementation of Azure SQL database solutions leveraging modern cloud architectures
Design and implementation of Azure cloud databases, high-availability solutions, replication, encryption, and disaster recovery solutions
Must have a strong understanding and knowledge of Managed Identities, Azure Private Link, Azure Service Endpoints, NSGs.
Data Partitioning, Purging and Archiving solutions in the Azure model databases
Migration of SQL Server Instances from 2008 R2 to,2014,2016, Oracle DB
Experience in Windows Azure, migrating database to Azure Cloud
· Implemented new SQL Server features by performing successful POCs

· Good Understanding & Knowledge on Cloud computing architecture, technical design and implementations including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS)

Experience in Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Gen1 and Gen2, Azure Storage.
Experience in Database Security model, Authentication, Capacity Planning, Performance monitoring, database tunning
· Experience in managing Very Large databases (VLDB) and troubleshooting problems

· Implemented Extended Events to replace custom scripts for monitoring & troubleshooting issues

· Design & Implemented In-memory tables in 2016 OLTP database server

· Use of Query Store feature for monitoring performance of database systems

· Azure CLI and PowerShell Scripting to automate database/Server level activities like monitoring disk space, Status of services etc.,

· Have Good understanding & experience on different RAID levels

· Good knowledge on Networking concepts and Protocols

· Experienced in Securing data with Dynamic Data Masking, Always Encrypted, Row-level security

· Good Experience on Writing T-SQL, including complex stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers

· Configuring database instances for Development /SIT/UAT and Production instances
