Who You Are: Understand the needs of other developers and enjoy building internal tools that empower an entire organization Have experience deploying and monitoring production systems on a major cloud provider Can read and write high-quality code in a modern language (ex. Go Python Javascript) Have strong experience working with MongoDB in scale; understands domain knowledge in terms of how data is stored performance tuning and scaling Willing and able to be an active contributor to the platform (from a software engineering perspective). This individual will be working within the database but they will need to contribute to the code because there isn’t enough demand for a full time DBA. Self-sufficiency is key. How You'll Contribute: Enable teams to fully own the lifecycle of their services Build internal engineering productivity tools for: unified logging and eventing across services; client event collection format standardization distribution and storage Work on easy-to-use libraries that form the basis for the bulk of our services Design and build distributed systems for long-term scalability and maintainability Collaborate with feature development teams to understand their needs from the platform Architect solutions that establish good patterns and fulfill development team needs Build tools to enable developer productivity Monitor production systems for issues
