Skills
• Provides support for the Data Warehouse Architect in the areas of data design (including modeling) data transformation and data architecture standards and ensures that they do not compromise business processes. • Provides industry leadership and expertise to the Systems and Technology organization on data source mapping and the effect that changes to sources and their data will have on downstream systems. • Identifies and drives business solutions where data can improve business results and/or leverage existing data. • Collaborates with business users to understand/clarify needs and develop/document clear specific requirements. • Works with the business to identify opportunities for future initiatives and releases. • Works with the project manager to ensure that all necessary tasks are accurately represented in the project plan. • Defines and gains agreement on the size of the effort during the design phase. Identifies changes that could impact scope and necessitate adjustments to resources or timeline. • Researches approach for handling data integration. • Researches data related issues and performs detailed data analysis. • Designs and leads the testing of data transformation aspects of the solution. Assists technical staff with unit testing plans to ensure that all business requirements are tested.Description
• Ensures use of best practices with respect to data usage. Develops the strategy for how the data will be documented, handled, stored, and processed to support the requirements from across all business units.
• Coordinates all aspects of source data transformation (source-to-target mapping) in support of ESL’s Data Management Program.
• Leads and mentors others on data governance aspects related to ESL’s Data Management Program.
• Ensures use of best practices with respect to data usage. Develops the strategy for how the data will be documented, handled, stored, and processed to support the requirements from across all business units.
• Coordinates all aspects of source data transformation (source-to-target mapping) in support of ESL’s Data Management Program.
• Leads and mentors others on data governance aspects related to ESL’s Data Management Program.
• Utilizes advanced understanding of data behind the portfolio of applications as well as how the business uses the data to make informed decisions to ensure that data is handled appropriately and consistently across the organization.
• Provides support for the Data Management Program Manager and Data Warehouse Architect in the areas of data architecture, design, and transformation.
• Provides support for the ETL and BI developers for all data related analysis, questions, and issues.
• Performs Data Steward duties for various Dataset Subgroup Teams.
Responsibilities
- • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or 4 additional years of experience with leadership data warehousing and analytical skills
- • Minimum 10 years of experience in supporting the business aspects of application systems, including reporting applications.
- • Minimum 10 years of experience in supporting business data, analytical concepts, and techniques.
- • Minimum 5 years of experience in data warehousing.
- • Commitment to achieving an inclusive work environment.
- • Proven experience with database concepts and query analysis in MS SQL and/or Oracle database applications.
- • Understanding of all aspects of the Data Warehouse Lifecycle methodology including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, and support.
- • Experience with Data Management concepts, focusing on data transformation, reporting, and analytics.
- • Demonstrated highly effective communications, interpersonal, and team building skills.
- • Proven experience working with business users to understand requirements and translate them to systems/data specifications.
- • Proven ability to multitask and independently engage in highly complex, strategic activities.
- • Proven ability to integrate data with packaged software and applications.
- • Proven ability to develop standards and process flows.
- • Demonstrated ability to work directly with various levels personnel within the company.
