Design and develop tests tools and frameworks to enable the reduction of manual testing. Leads the solution delivery and implementation of programs and projects Responsible for test creation testing a large module and/or a large component. Design and develop UI integration regression performance and other testing Works closely with the development team to build/maintain .Net test framework. Comfortable and adaptable in a fast-paced environment with a go-getter attitude. Manually execute testing if required. Identifies test approaches coverage and requirement gaps and risks. Ensures quality measures are included in the initial project design. Writes detailed test strategies and plans making full use of different test estimation techniques in assessing the best balance of coverage and efficiency for a project. Ensures requirements traceability in the team and identifies areas for improvement. Develops executes and analyzes the output from scripts that capture application and platform quality metrics. Troubleshoots errors found in the test environment with help from Development teams. Raises quality issues to the right levels of management using established channels of escalation. May be responsible for providing technical leadership in multiple phases of a project ensuring coordination of multiple assignments to completion and escalating key decision points that deviate from the provided technical direction.

Description

Currently their QA Automation is built in C# using Selimuim. Long term, they are moving from Selenium to Cypress which will be in JavaScript. This Lead candidate will be maintaining the old C# build (so they need C#) while helping the team migrate over the Cypress. The first 6 months while on contract, they will not technically have any direct reports. After they are converted over, they will manage the QA team. 3-4 reports. Since it is a management role, the candidate will likely have 3 interviews (all video). One with Donald, one with Waseem and then a final. Hopefully this gives you a little context on the team.

Tech stack they are using currently in Advantasure? Product is built on Microsoft .NET framework
What’s the automation tool this person will be using to write automation scripts (selenium)? Selenium & Manual testing as well. -Will be switching over to Cypress in the next 6 months
What will be the ratio of automation testing vs manual testing in this role? There will always be a manual testing involved due to the highly configurable product.
Selling points about the team/company: Start up environment within a large organization. Extremely talented/driven/fun. Our parent is BCBS – MI (sixth largest healthplan in the country). The company was purchased by BCBS 2 years ago. So the team environment/culture is very agile, startup mentality. Exposure to pretty much the entire team. We are not hierarchical in any shape or form

This will be a management position so they are looking for someone that has experience managing or Leading a team of 3-4people before.

Responsibilities

• Expertise in test automation Selenium Webdriver C#, NUnit, extent reports, Jenkins CI/CD pipeline.
• Experience with performance, stress, and load testing.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and planning skills.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities
• Ability to work constructively with other technical experts in a group setting
• Expert technology stack /platform proficiency: C#, .Net, SQL Server, and Visual Studio
• Knowledge of HTML 5 based UX
• Working knowledge of ASP.NET and exposure to user controls, custom controls, and ASP.Net AJAX.
• Skilled in Web Services (SOAP or REST-based).
• Knowledge of Relational database design.
• Knowledge of Test Management and Defect Management Tools.
• Experience with any nodeJS/Javascript testing frameworks preferred.
