AWS Cloud Application Architect

Description

Design and implement cloud-based solutions using AWS services to meet business and technical requirements.
Help accelerate cloud migrations with the ability to connect between what, why and how
Create blueprints and cloud architecture patterns in the format of executable recipes
Provide architecture consulting as a service
Create cloud design patterns.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement application architectures that meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
Develop and implement cloud migration strategies for existing applications, including re-architecting, re-platforming, and refactoring.
Implement and maintain cloud security and compliance controls to ensure the protection of sensitive data.
Develop and maintain documentation, including architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and operational procedures.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other team members.

Responsibilities

• Should have application development and architecture background, Java and Spring Boot strongly preferred
• Experiences with large scale cloud application migrations
• Deep underlying how to apply cloud design patterns in the real-world scenarios such as resiliency and application architecture patterns such as CQRS
• Application architecture experiences in service integration, caching, data access, messaging, connectivity
• 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture and application development, with a strong emphasis on AWS services.
• Extensive experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Aurora, Dynamo, Lambda, and IAM.
• Strong knowledge of application architectures, including microservices, serverless, and containerization.
• Experience with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and configuration management.
• Familiarity with database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL, and graph databases.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Comfortable for presenting, other architects critiquing and making corrections. Should be presenting the team and guiding on the migration efforts
• Looking for a resource who comes from a java application development background
• worked with service integration, data access, messaging, caching, security, and other application workload patterns.
• Must have migrated several application workloads to AWS and understands the nuances of developing transition architectures to migrate application workloads to AWS.
• In-depth knowledge of EKS, ECS Fargate, Aurora PostgreSQL, Dynamo DB, Amazon MSK, ElastiCache Redis, and AWS API Gateway.
• Familiar with Cloud2Ground, Ground2Cloud, and Cloud2cloud Connectivity Challenges.
• Comfortable presenting his/her ideas and solutions to other architects and product teams.
• Must have an owner's mindset, customer-focus, and a sense of urgency to bring tasks to completion.
