Partner with project teams hosting network and security team to identify the platform requirement and translate it to the BOM (Bill of Material) document as part of the build process. Create terraform scripts for specific Azure resources such as (SQL PaaS App Gateway etc.) and automate deployment using Azure pipeline Work Closely with Vendor I&O teams and business partners in migration of Teradata data warehouse from on-prem to Cloud. Assist in implementing new data replication software and establish connectivity between source and target application. Partner with Application owners to assess the migration effort and timeline from Oracle Java to OpenJDK. Improve Platform Security posture by assessing vulnerabilities and providing an approach to remediate those. Assess and forecast future requirements to ensure that the platform capacity and sizing are done right. Troubleshoot platform issues impacting both on-prem and cloud applications Document and publish new standards and best practices Maintain and update technical documentation as well as mentor other team members. Manage customer relationships through understanding and anticipating the customer’s immediate and future needs.Description
The Cloud Platform Engineer is an integral part of the Application Infrastructure team helping with planning, design, implementation, and stabilization of platforms to support new application and technology solutions. This role will work closely with application teams to buildout the platforms which includes application installation, configuration, and database services. It will also include setup of any necessary security, automation, monitoring, and platform management processes. Client’s platforms have extended into the Cloud, and this role will be hands-on working on building Azure services leveraging Azure DevOps and Azure pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related business degree
- Experience in Azure Cloud and Azure DevOps
- System OS Experience (i.e., Windows, Linux)
- Experience working on SQL databases
- Prior experience of Data Replication and Datawarehouse Solutions
- Strong foundational experience in authentication and authorization protocols and tools
- Experience in writing technical requirements and/or design specifications.
- Experience managing multiple complex tasks/initiative spanning a variety of technology areas.
