U.S. Bank is transitioning from an on-premises Hadoop-based data lake environment to Azure Synapse as part of our cloud migration. Downstream customers connecting to Hadoop will connect through Azure Synapse to consume data.
U.S. Banks Adoption and Enablement team is seeking a talented consultant with extensive experience modernizing applications to Azure Synapse. The consultant will assist our customers in connecting different tools to Azure Synapse, such as SSIS, Informatica, and DataStage, as well as other tools and languages, such as Python, Java, C#, and SAS.
Responsibilities
- • Minimally five years of experience as a Data Analyst with Azure Synapse and SQL coding experience.
- • Experience in the onboarding to Azure Synapse with an understanding of dedicated, serverless, and spark pools, and the different features and functionality of Synapse and role-based permissions.
- • Knowledge of Azure Active Directory, Azure Data Lake storage and Azure Data Factory.
- • Experience in migration projects from on-prem data to Azure Synapse.
- • Experience with minimally two ETL tools such as SSIS, Informatica and DataStage.
- • Hadoop/Hive experience with a good knowledge in working with Delta and Parquet tables.
- • Communication and writing skills.
- What skills/attributes are preferred (these are desired, not required)?
- • Azure certification (Fundamentals, Associate) is preferred.
- • SAS, Power BI, Tableau
Educational Requirements
- 3+ years with Active Directory, Entra ID, and Azure RBAC.
- Experience with Gitlab/Terraform for CICD pipelines (Infrastructure/IAM as Code).
- Azure Certifications (AZ-104, AZ-500, or SC-300) preferred.
- Experience with application authentication/authorization and database security is a plus.
