Cognos Administrator

Description

Oversee the administration and maintenance of the IBM Cognos environment within the organization.
Utilize extensive experience in metadata modeling to create projects, prepare metadata, define business views, manage packages, set security permissions, and publish content to the portal.
Conduct in-depth analysis of OLTP/OLAP systems, perform ER modeling, and maintain database schemas including Star Schema and Snowflake Schema for relational and dimensional modeling.
Manage databases including AS-400 DB2, Oracle, and SQL Server, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability.
Gather requirements from end users and collaborate with stakeholders to develop comprehensive business reports that provide valuable insights.
Develop Cognos reports and dashboards tailored to the needs of management and business users, utilizing advanced visualization techniques to convey complex data in an intuitive manner.

Responsibilities

• Proven experience as a Cognos Administrator or similar role, with expertise in IBM Cognos BI software.
• Proven experience in Business Intelligence Architecture, Data Architecture, Support/Maintenance, Business Analysis, Data Analysis, Application Development, and Data Warehousing.
• Extensive experience in metadata modeling, OLTP/OLAP system analysis, and database management.
• Proficiency in Cognos administration, report development, and user training.
• Strong knowledge of databases such as AS-400 DB2, Oracle, and SQL Server.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to gather requirements from end users and translate them into actionable solutions.
