The Sr. Manager, Data Product Owner will be a member of Operational Data Solutions Delivery team leading data product management organization.
This role will help lead the digital transformation of managing operational and foundational data as a product philosophy. Strong focus on defining, managing and executing data product roadmap in collaboration with data SMEs, data engineers and business stakeholders is critical to this role.
As leader of data product organization, your team will establish and drive agile practices to manage enterprise-wide data transformation and integration projects using industry standard tools like Jira, Confluence.
This role will be pivotal in BCBSMA’s transition to cloud first data architecture that is scalable and adaptable to drive consumer experience journey of BCBSMA members.
Responsibilities
- • Build and manage enterprise data and integration domain roadmap to support strategic and operational portfolio initiatives.
- • Partner with data governance and tech leadership to build and manage Master Data Management supporting Digital, Analytics and Core systems.
- • Lead team to adopt agile processes of building and delivering data products.
- • Provides backlog management, iteration planning and elaboration of user stories.
- • Responsible for defining stories, prioritizing the team backlog and ensuring its visibility to business partners and ET leadership.
- • Attends and actively participates in Team Ceremonies: Iteration Planning, Daily Scrum, Iteration Review, Iteration Retrospective.
- • Manage upstream and downstream communication related to product being developed and operationalized.
- • Understands data architecture, solutions and platforms supporting enterprise data & integration transformation.
- • Work towards improving data operations to deliver quality product using best in class DevSecOps, and CI/CD platforms.
- • Drive technical design discussions, understand technical dependencies and communicate requirements to engineering teams.
- • Have end-to-end experience ownership, including taking final decisions on product functionality.
- • Manage all forms of documentation for data products to support needs of analytics, engineering and operations staff
- • Stay on top of all relevant healthcare and consumer technology trends, competitors, and market offerings.
Educational Requirements
- • Minimum 7 years of progressively work experience with data management, BI, Reporting or Analytics areas.
- • Minimum 4 years of experience in working with SQL or NoSQL databases like Oracle, Netezza, Postgres DB, MongoDB.
- • Minimum 4 years of experience in working as product owner focused on managing data & integration products/applications.
- • Minimum 3 years of experience with data visualizations/dashboards using tools like Tableau, Cognos, Cliq, PowerBI, etc.
- • Minimum 3 years of experience with Jira & Confluence for product management.
- • Minimum 2 years of experience working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
- • Strong understanding of CICD/DevOps processes and tools, Software Development lifecycle
- • Experience working on products with RESTful API and general service-oriented architecture.
- • Agile Scrum Master and AWS certification is highly desirable.
- • Healthcare domain knowledge is must
