· AWS Certification · Experience with other AWS database services such as RDS.. · Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g. Docker Kubernetes). · Experience with DevOps practices and tools (e.g. CI/CD pipelines Git).Description
· Overall Experience of 10-12 Yrs and bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
· Proven experience working with Amazon Aurora and/or PostgreSQL in a production environment.
· Strong SQL skills and experience with SQL tuning techniques.
· Proficiency in AWS services such as EC2, Route 53, VPC, IAM, and CloudFormation.
· Hands-on experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
· Familiarity with database security concepts and best practices.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- 1. Intuit Core (Turbo Tax, Turbotyax online, Quickbooks etc.) has about 20 microservices and his team is responsible for managing 12-15 of those.
- 2. Their migration from Oracle to Postgres has been completed.
- 3. The primary responsibility is to manage these services.
- 4. Skill wise:
- 1. Solid PostgreSQL DBA kind of experience. Also, knowledge about Aurora PostgreSQL.
- 2. Someone who has maintained databases in the past. If they have, then they know what it takes to understand how to manage production database services like on call production support. Examples like: if the CPU is 90%, jumping in there to figure out what is going wrong and how to solve and fix issues. These comes with experience and hence he wants someone who has done it in the past. Someone with only theoretical knowledge does not work as these are production databases.
- 3. Some familiarity with AWS - ec2, route 53, etc.
- 4. Some idea about infrastructure-as-code
