Principal Engineer will be a senior member and of a team accountable for the uptime and management of all SPE Global Enterprise Server Infrastructure. The Principal Engineer is responsible for analysis, design, and development of enterprise systems and senior level technical expert for production of the Sony Pictures Entertainment Global Server Technology environment. This position has a strong emphasis on enterprise system analysis, design, architectures and project management. This position requires an emphasis on problem management, project management as well as building and maintaining positive business relationships with the IT Organizations, clients and vendors. Fulfilment of responsibilities must be performed with a minimum to no supervision. Core Responsibilities The job's most important functions and responsibilities and percentage of time.
Responsibilities
- System Engineering & Design Support: 40%
- Senior team member on a team of Global Server Technology Team.
- Perform installations and configurations of multiple virtualization technologies and Operating Systems (i.e., Windows, Linux, etc.)
- Establish standards for server hardware and operating systems.
- Establish server usage policies and communicate policies to affected audience(s).
- Develop performance management procedures for server infrastructure.
- Manage and maintain server resources, globally, throughout the enterprise.
- Manage IT Staff relationships to insure service levels and availability of all servers.
- Manage outages, identify root cause and resolve all server issues within allowed service
