Skills
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or equivalent technical experience. • 5+ years of experience and expert knowledge of Java (8+) enterprise development and integration middleware development. • 4+ years of experience in each of the following skills: Java Spring Core Spring Integration Spring Boot Spring MVC Spring Security. • 5+ years of experience as a software engineer • 3+ years of enterprise-level software development • 2+ years of experience with IBM API Connect; Experience in AWS API Gateway is a nice-to-have • 3+ years of experience with RDBMS SQL (e.g. Oracle Postgres) and Java DB integration using Spring Data JPA Hibernate. • In-depth knowledge of the Open API 2.0 standard required; familiarity with Open API 3.0 or later is a plus. • 3+ years of experience with JavaScript; experience with both UI and non-UI usage of JavaScript is preferred. • An In-depth knowledge of API service implementation is preferred. • Work as a multi-skilled professional practicing Agile/SCRUM methodology. • Passion for collaboration and working on agile teams. • Good documentation skills are a plus.
Description

True Java developer that has worked with API Connect.
Corporate IT is actively searching for an experienced Java/Spring Boot API Developer who will leverage their enterprise technology skills to develop business solutions within the healthcare industry. The API Developer role will be part of the Enterprise Architecture team at LabCorp and will focus on configuring, designing, developing, and supporting API services hosted in AWS API Gateway. The applicant will be challenged with cutting-edge technologies to provide a modern framework for Java/Linux-based solutions across virtualized machines, and hybrid cloud platforms (IaaS). The developer may also be called upon from time to time to build and support enterprise shared common services and to support and expand the capabilities of LabCorp’s enterprise gateways (AWS API Gateway and IBM API Connect). This is an opportunity to help build enterprise-wide API Gateway solutions, to develop services and automation to support these platforms and specific applications which utilize it, and to develop other enterprise-level services. We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, motivated, and comfortable working both independently and in small team settings. You will be collaborating with development teams across the enterprise to develop APIs and API services which utilize our API management platforms. The API Developer will provide technical leadership in our agile development teams. The role will include dealing with complex business integrations, eliciting requirements, and implementing secure and high-performance services consumed by various devices and applications across the organization. The applicant will drive the evolution of our solutions and ensure that we meet our internal and external clients' software requirements. Responsibilities
  • • Software development, in Java, JavaScript, or shell scripting languages.
  • • Development of APIs to support various solutions throughout the enterprise.
  • • Deliver prototypes and reusable solutions that can be utilized across the organization.
  • • Designs complex RESTful web services, IBM API Connect (APIC) and AWS API Gateway
  • configurations, while being part of cross functional and agile development teams.
  • • Perform code reviews and code merges from all team members.
  • • Follows best practices for test-driven development (unit testing and beyond).
  • • Designs functional/system integration tests and automation.
  • • Work with other groups within IT to foster the DevOps culture around automation of builds,
  • testing, deploys and scaling.
  • • Development of Terraform scripts and tools to facilitate build and deployment automation for
  • integration into our enterprise DevOps solution.
  • • Development of framework libraries which implement, or simplify the implementation of,
  • various enterprise security patterns, especially those related to API Connect and AWS API
  • Gateway.
  • • Assisting development teams throughout the enterprise with the use of AWS API Gateway/API
  • Connect from both an API client and API provider perspective.
  • • Work with minimal supervision enabling technical team.
  • • Pushes the envelope with creative and innovative thinking.
