Description

As a Kafka Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Kafka clusters to support real-time data streaming and event-driven architectures. You will collaborate with development teams, data engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the efficient and reliable processing of large-scale data streams. This role requires a deep understanding of Kafka, distributed systems, and related technologies, as well as strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.

Responsibilities
  • Kafka Cluster Deployment and Configuration: Design, deploy, and configure Kafka clusters to meet the performance, scalability, and reliability requirements of the organization. Optimize Kafka configurations for resource utilization, throughput, and latency.
  • Data Ingestion and Integration: Implement data ingestion pipelines to ingest data from various sources into Kafka topics. Integrate Kafka with other systems and services, such as databases, data lakes, and stream processing frameworks.
  • Stream Processing and Analytics: Develop stream processing applications using Kafka Streams, Apache Flink, or other stream processing frameworks. Implement real-time analytics, transformations, and aggregations on data streams.
  • Monitoring and Alerting: Set up monitoring and alerting mechanisms to track the health and performance of Kafka clusters. Monitor Kafka brokers, topics, partitions, and consumer lag. Implement proactive measures to detect and mitigate issues before they impact production systems.
  • Fault Tolerance and Disaster Recovery: Design and implement fault-tolerant Kafka architectures to ensure high availability and data durability. Configure replication, partitioning, and data retention policies. Develop disaster recovery plans and conduct failover testing.
