Prior experience in marketing or MarTech 5+ years working with relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB Casandra CouchDB/Couchbase MongoDB) Experience with audience management or campaign management platforms such as Unica/Interact Adobe Audience Manager Salesforce Audience Builder Experience with email platforms Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferred Experience with web analytics platforms Adobe Analytics ideally Conceptual and physical database modeling Familiarity with graphQL Familiarity working with Collibra or similar data cataloging solutions Strong written and verbal communication skills. The MarTech Platforms group is an enterprise team that empowers Vanguard’s marketing divisions to reach their audiences in more meaningful and relevant ways, driving incremental business value with personalized, data-driven, contextually relevant experiences. The AWS Data Engineer, MarTech Data Layer is a key role responsible for leveraging marketing data across the enterprise to enable better experiences and outcomes for our investors via personalization, segmentation, targeting and measurement. You will use your knowledge of this data to inform data sets and schema designs for raw data collection, semantic data layer/product design, and Identity Resolution (IDR) and Customer Data Platform (CDP) schema design to power marketing activation, personalization and analytics use cases. You will transform large and disparate data sets into rocket fuel for marketers to create highly targeted customer audiences for personalized customer experiences.
Responsibilities
- Work with marketers and product owners to elicit, understand and develop a comprehensive understanding of customer and marketing data requirements and use cases, including how data is created, collected, and consumed across various Vanguard’s digital marketing channels.
- Design and develop semantic data models and enrich the analytical data sources for further usability and availability that aligns with marketing activation and analytical use cases by adopting advanced & cutting-edge technology in the cloud.
- Document data structures, including metadata within Collibra
- Collaborate with PO and MarTech Data engineering teams to design and build standardized marketing data products that align with marketing requirements and use cases.
- Collaborate with IDR and CDP developers to define data sets for identity resolution and activation from the CDP, to ingest and extract data into the IDR & CDP to support data collection in the marketing data lake
- Ensure data quality and optimizes data availability. Monitor data pipelines for accuracy, missing data, enhancements, changes, and billing volumes to ensure all data is captured and processed accurately and when needed.
- Enable greater reliability, adaptability, and speed by leveraging techniques from SRE and DevSecOps practices in your data and analytics work.
- Create clear and concise documents that helps readers understand how the code works, the technical procedures, and can be leveraged as training material.
