• Work with business analysts and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and document them into product backlog items. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and understand source systems and data assets. • Work with business data owners business data stewards and technical data stewards to collect review and publish Metadata. • Establish implement and enhance metadata standards and best practices. • Classify tag and catalog data assets in Microsoft Purview and PowerBI Reports. • Contribute to the development of Data Governance & Metadata Collection Frameworks. • Monitor and enforce compliance with metadata standards and data governance policies. • Conduct regular checks on metadata collected in Purview to identify and resolve inconsistencies. • Maintain up-to-date documentation of metadata standards and procedures. • Provide updates on the daily stand up on work completed the day before and plan of work to be completed today.Description
The Enterprise Metadata team is looking to add a Senior Metadata Analyst. The Metadata Analyst will work on the Azure projects. The analyst will be creating/updating metadata definitions, relationships, and governance attributes on large data assets. The analyst will be working with multiple teams and several datasets to ensure all files and columns have metadata within the cloud.
Responsibilities
- • Strong understanding of data modelling concepts and knowledge of databases.
- • Expertise in querying big data using SQL and Python for data manipulation and automation.
- • Understanding of ETL processes and how data flows between sources, systems, and applications.
- • Knowledge of cloud platforms like Azure.
- • Proficiency in troubleshooting issues in data pipelines.
- • Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management tools
- • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, data analysts, data engineers, architects, and data stewards.
- • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
- • 4+ years of data analysis experience focused in SQL and Business Intelligence tools.
- • 2+ years of Microsoft Office Suite
- • Previous experience with Data Governance in a Financial Institution
- • Previous experience with Metadata management in a Financial Institution
- • Demonstrated experience in responsible roles, showcasing increasing levels of responsibility.
- • Familiarity with NoSQL databases.
