Responsibilities

• We are looking for a full time software developer who has strong Python and C++ skill with applied math or engineering background to optimize some of our calculation and simulation code.
• We are looking for a software developer with expertise in Python and applied math to join our agile development team on a contractor basis. The contractor should have experience working with an existing code base in a git repository and feel comfortable working collaboratively with others.
• This team is working to improve the performance of software that performs a variety of algebraic engineering calculations. The software is written in Python and includes class definitions, functions, unit tests, and API interfaces. The contractor will be responsible for coding mathematical expressions and calling open source solvers for systems of equations and root finding, such as those in the scipy package.
• Our team will coach the contractor on the code structure and guide choices of the mathematical solutions, but he/she should be self-sufficient in code development, debugging, testing, committing code to the repository, and controlling the compute environment. A preferred educational background is a BS degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or physics.
