Ability to analyze design and support implementation of Oracle PL/SQL Packages Procedures Functions Views create/alter database tables and PL/SQL collections based on business requirements and specifications Must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and able to adapt easily to change. Experience writing advanced Oracle SQL and PL/SQL on large Oracle databases version 12c (currently on 19c) and above on RAC (Real Application Clusters) and EXADATA platforms. Ability to translate business and functional requirements into technical specifications. Experience with Functional Programming. Highly competent working with large data transfers batch processing and writing highly scalable and performant SQL and PL/SQL code. Proficient in Table partitioning and Indexing strategies. Experience creating managing and developing using Oracle Advanced Queues. Data analysis skills to debug trace and fix performance and production issues. Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture and experience in database modelling of OLTP systems. Strong experience with SQL and PL/SQL tuning. Not limited to running explain plans and adding query hints. Experience writing automated PL/SQL unit tests using frameworks like utPLSql. Proficient in version control tools like GIT to manage versions of scripts. Experience working with CICD tools and managing automated deployments and builds for databases. Process and detailed oriented. Ability to do perform code reviews and mentor junior developers on technical skills. Must have good English written and verbal communication skills. Self-motivated and able to work from home productively. Able to work extended hours during critical deliveries. Plus: Knowledge or Experience working in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Services (Oracle Golden Gate Oracle Analytics Cloud Oracle BI Publisher OpenSearch (ElasticSearch)). Plus: Knowledge and capabilities with other software technologies. (Java Python Control-M shell scripting docker Jira Confluence).

Description

The Lead Software Developer possess high level of competency in software design and development, task estimation, resource planning and allocation, and project status tracking & reporting. Designs, modifies, develops, writes and implements software applications; Represents a project team from development perspective for design sessions; Mentors junior level developers in development techniques and best practices; Creates detailed documentation that will be passed on to maintenance to help support the new or enhanced application, job, or report; assign, oversee, and assess developers’ work and be part of peer review team; Work with business users to fully understand the business requirements; Understand integration points to the many different systems as they relate to the project under development; Identifies data interfaces and ensures that they are integrated into project plans; ensures the continuous integration/delivery practices with the project.

Responsibilities

• Resource to design, develop, maintain, and test software, collaborating with the DBA, development team and business partners to ensure successful delivery and implementation of application solutions in an agile environment.
• Should be hands on and able to successfully deliver on time and budget.
• Must be able to interact and co-ordinate with distributed teams onshore and offshore.
• Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software.
• This individual will work with the team to optimize SQL statements as necessary and establish best practices.
• Document process flows and create Wiki documents to be utilized by development teams.
• Production support and maintenance of database software.
• Participates in design and code reviews
• Mentoring juniors in the project team

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years of plsql design and development related experience.
