Description

The hiring manager is the Director of Corporate Services. Shesupports HR, Payroll, Legal, Investor Relations, Risk Mgmt. The main responsibility for this person will be working in PeopleSoft HR. Heavy with PeopleCode, SQR, and interfacing with 3rd party apps. This person needs to be well-rounded and have as much experience as possible with all parts of hands-on PeopleSoft development. Will likely be coming from smaller environments, not segmented corporate teams.

PeopleCode is an object-oriented, proprietary language used to express business logic for PeopleSoft applications. In its fundamentals, PeopleCode syntax resembles other programming languages. Some aspects of the PeopleCode language, however, are specifically related to the PeopleTools environment.

Structured Query Report (SQR)

Structured Query Report Writer is a programming language that combines the power of SQL queries, the sophistication of procedural logic, and the freedom of the multiple-platform development. It works equally well on client and server, crosses almost seamlessly between different platforms, and covers nearly all-relational databases. SQR components include SQR Server, SQR viewer, SQR Print, SQR Execute, and SQR Workbench for windows.

Responsibilities

• 1. Work with business team members and IT functional counterparts to understand requirements and translate business requirements into efficient technical solutions. Design, develop, program and maintain software and interfaces between systems. Work on system enhancements, upgrades, patches, help-desk issues for supported systems, Document technical requirements and specifications. Deliver and meet deadlines on all assigned projects. Manage technically complex assignments. (75%)
• 2. Respond to problems related to PeopleSoft and other systems as appropriate. Offer improvement suggestions for increased efficiencies as well as recommended actions and plans to avoid or mitigate problems. Identify and implement improvement plans where appropriate based on technical and subject matter knowledge. Educate the group on these methods and processes and ensure their usage on an ongoing basis. (20%)
• 3. Investigate and stay abreast of current technology versions and trends related to the technologies we support. (5%)
• SCOPE OF WORK
• Primary contacts will be all levels of management mainly within Corporate Service groups such as Human Resources and Legal/Compliance department but also with other business groups, IT staff, and external service providers. Implement practices that ensure delivery of systems on time, on budget and within defined requirements.
• Maintains an advanced working knowledge of PeopleSoft programming, systems interfaces, and business processes. Judiciously balances resource demands between project work, maintenance and production fixes. Needs to adjust quickly to changing priorities based on sound business judgment and impact analysis. Needs to be able to make quick decisions on limited information. Must be responsive to problems raised by IT or the business.
