Description
To implement updated CSS and database driven web pages into the revised format; though a template system of updates is being created, hand coding and coding edits will be necessary on specific pages and for handling unique cases.
Purpose :
· A temporary web applications coder to expedite the re-design project of the Chandra web site chandra.si.edu which will bring the Chandra public facing site up to higher accessibility, usability and safe coding standards. NASA.gov is currently undergoing a major redesign and sharing its usability/accessibility focuses with the NASA digital team in which we participate; additionally the current White House is emphasizing improved accessibility and inclusion standards for federally funded digital products such as web sites, making it a critical time to proceed with the updates of the web site for NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory.
· Familiar with Drupal, Jquery, Bootcamp for communicating with the servers and also the permanent Chandra web team.
· Familiar with Adobe Photoshop for basic image work including navigation menu setup, resizing, graphical layouts, etc. as needed for the web page updates
