As a core member of the Hedge Fund Accounting IT team, you will work with dedicated professionals to ensure their clients maintain access to their critical information assets while keeping them ahead of industry trends.
HFAIT department manages the core accounting platform (Æxeo®) and data warehouse. The platform is used by clients globally and is the first true straight-through, proprietary front-to-back solution for hedge funds that uses a single database for all activities including order capture, position and P&L reporting and accounting.
This consulting position reports to the Development Lead under the Hedge Fund Accounting IT (HFAIT) department.
Responsibilities
- You have 5+ years of professional hands-on database development and or database administration.
- 2+ years of Postgres experience (AWS RDS/Aurora experience preferred)
- 1 year of AWS RDS and DMS experience
- Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of RDBMS tuning
- Advanced knowledge in PL/pgSQL, SQL troubleshooting and tuning
- Solid understanding and demonstrated proficiency with core software development processes –
- debugging, code tuning, code management and branching, coding styles and refactoring
Educational Requirements
- Good proficiency in improving performance and reliability of production databases
- Hands-on skills operating in Linux and Windows
- Working knowledge of application architecture, networking, security, reliability and scalability concepts
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the following competencies: creativity, technical analysis, problem solving, communication, multitasking and client service
- Must be self-motivated and driven
- Strong ability to work with in-house resources and vendors
