Power BI Developer

Description

Experience in Business Analytics tools developing Reporting and Dashboards.
Working experience with Railroad business
Reporting and Analytics using Power BI - M Query, DAX, Data Modelling, RLS
Database technologies and strong SQL query writing skills, preferrable Oracle and SQL Server.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst certified preferred.
Proven experience as a BI Developer or Data Scientist, with strong proficiency in Power BI.
Solid experience in SQL and working with relational databases.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to dissect large amounts of data.
Experience in the transportation especially in railroad industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support LIRR Operational Analytics implementations from the initial business analysis, system requirements and system design functions.
• Study, analyze and understand business requirements in context to business intelligence.
• Design and map data models to shift raw data into meaningful insights.
• Design and create interactive and visually appealing dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI.
• Connect and integrate data from various sources, such as databases, spreadsheets, and cloud services, into Power BI datasets.
• Clean, transform, and model data to ensure it is suitable for reporting and analysis.
• Optimize Power BI reports and queries for performance and responsiveness.
• Facilitate and lead requirements gathering workshops with the ability to identify and analyze business needs.
• Implement security measures to ensure data confidentiality and compliance with data
• protection regulations.
• Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
• Create and maintain documentation for data models, report specifications, and best practices.
• Develop strong data documentation about algorithms, parameters, models.
• Run DAX queries and functions in Power BI
• Identify the requirements and develop custom charts accordingly.
