Skills
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related technical field. An advanced degree is preferred. Proven experience in senior architect roles with a demonstrated track record of delivering large-scale restaurant/hospitality/retail solutions focusing on POS and back-of-house systems. Hands-on experience in designing and implementing POS architecture is preferred. Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Expert knowledge of restaurant/hospitality/retail technologies architectural patterns and best practices. Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive change and influence at all levels of the organization. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. A combination of strategic thinking and tactical execution with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Deep understanding of multi-brand QSR or retail/hospitality business and associated technology ecosystems is preferred.Description
Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot. Experience with cloud-native micro-services architecture. Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, and k6. Knowledge of application performance monitoring tools like App Dynamics, ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), Splunk, and New Relic.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive team member-facing restaurant technology architecture that aligns with the organization's business goals.
- Drive digital innovation to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of technology advancements.
- Architecture Design and Development:
- Lead the design and development of the next-generation multi-brand POS and team member-facing technology ecosystem that is scalable, resilient, and adaptable to changing business needs.
- Integrate POS with other systems such as digital ordering, mobile apps, loyalty programs, payment systems, inventory management, and financial systems.
- Ensure that the POS architecture supports omnichannel/unified commerce strategies, enabling a seamless and cohesive user experience across various digital touchpoints.
- Leadership and Collaboration:
- Mentor and guide architects and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Provide thought leadership and technical guidance during implementation, deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate closely with the Chief Technical Officer to discuss innovation strategies and drive the technological vision of the organization.
- Participate in innovation discussions to contribute ideas and insights that align with the organization's strategic objectives.
- Execution:
- Oversee the execution of POS implementation and rollout, ensuring it is delivered as designed and mitigating architecture/design issues as they arise.
- Proactively mitigate potential obstacles.
- Ensure compliance with security, regulatory standards, and industry/technology best practices.
- Performance Measurement:
- Continuously assess and refine restaurant technology architecture to drive performance improvements and operational efficiencies.
