Description

PROGRESS DBA with sound knowledge on Version 9, OE 10 and upwards
PROGRESS Database runs QAD Applications SE and below for On premise and EE for Cloud hosted on QAD\'s cloud
Good experience in Linux/Unix/AIX administration especially from PROGRESS database perspective
Strong communication skills
Reporting skills so that stakeholders are always up to date with tasks
Essential to interface with other teams like Networking, Firewall; etc

Responsibilities

• Servermigration [On premise only] - Moving from one OS Version to another [OSupgrade]. This would essentially need to work on QAD\'s surrounding areas likesetting up printers, interfaces, Security certificates; etc
• Compatibility/ Certified environment - Advisory role about QAD\'s compatibility with OS andother surrounding software [Java, Tomcat; etc] versions.
• Vulnerabilities- Actioning on identified vulnerabilities at OS level to mitigate identifiedrisks. This might need to establish contact with OEM\'s of the OS to understand various possibilities and methods of tackling the risks.
• Installation- There would be a need to install QAD and all allied softwares. It might also need to procure software from QAD / PROGRESS for which the candidate should be conversant with the procedure for such procurement.
• Troubleshooting- In mitigating risks or server migrations, candidate is expected to troubleshoot during UAT and Cut over
• Shell Scripting - Candidate must be able to read, interpret and code shell scripts as essential.
• Scheduling Software - Knowledge of any scheduling tools like Tivoli Workload Scheduler or similar is desired
