Description

Total Wine & More is seeking UI Developers to join our digital/e-commerce team on-site at our headquarters in Bethesda, MD. We are passionate about building scalable performant cloud-based web applications while continuously developing new features to enrich our customer experience.



The ideal candidate will be able to leverage in-depth React and Go expertise to build reusable components and performant services. This engineer will work closely with product owners, UX designers, and other developers to translate design mocks into actionable technical requirements and, ultimately, clean, functional code. Curiosity and a customer-focused mindset are encouraged, as many features will be released behind a feature flag or as part of an A/B test. This engineer will drive for continuous optimization of security and performance while tackling the exciting challenges of integrating personalization on a heavily cached SSR e-commerce site.

Responsibilities

• Bachelor"s degree from four-year college or university in Computer Science, Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 4+ years of experience of React, especially function components capitalizing on hooks.
• 5+ years of production software development using Javascript ES6, HTML 5, CSS 3.
• 1+ years of experience with statically typed language (Go, C, C++, Rust, etc).
• Familiarity with serverside rendering (SSR), asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and RESTful APIs.
• Solid coding practices including regular code reviews, documentation, and version control.
• Passion for keeping up to speed with the latest software tools and methodologies.
• Intellectual curiosity and strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Preference for agile development and familiarity with its tools like Jira.
