Currently have implemented a ServiceNow platform: they use Snow for pricing projects and building out servers. They have Ansible on 1 side and ACI on the other side. 2 resources needed to add to cover each side. FIS manages their own tables in service now and require basic skills in JavaScript and specifically service now JavaScript knowledge. They need someone who can build API endpoints inside or service now and interface with external APIs as well as general catalog build stuff. They use studio within service now for development and tie it to GitHub for backup purposes but it's not being used for promotions due to service now's limitations. The main requirement is JavaScript coding with a service now background. They are creating a UI portal and need someone strong in JavaScript. There are no specific functions other than knowing how to script an external API or interface with an external API. They mainly work on the catalog workflows and script includes client scripts. The data model is established and they need someone with an understanding of networking including software-defined networking like ACI as well as basic knowledge of firewall and load balancers. The ServiceNow team prefers the basic ServiceNow developer certification for admin access. They're looking for UI development on the GUI of ServiceNow not traditional module building. FIS is heavily restricted by the platform's catalogue so they're not looking outside of it at the moment. Need someone with a networking background who has done custom builds at an enterprise level and has JavaScript skills along with the catalogue. ITSM portfolio management is important but now required.

Description

The team handles networking aspects of the FIS private cloud and is building an end-to-end declarative solution for automation. They have created a self-service pattern builder and deployment form to allow people to build their own patterns and deploy them to any number of instances for the application they need.
However, their bottleneck is with servicenow work because they only have 2 Snow developers in the team. Service now is an antiquated system that requires manual processes and has no automation or integration with GitHub.
They are looking for 2 new Snow developers to join the team and pick up the slack.

Responsibilities

• 1. The meeting discussed the technical requirements for a Snow developer position.
• 2. The Snow developer needs to have experience with JavaScript and specifically service now JavaScript knowledge.
• 3. They should be able to work with API endpoints and interface with external APIs.
• 4. The main areas of work for the Snow developer are catalog build and workflows.
• 5. The need for a UI developer is not valid as they are mainly working within the catalog.
• 6. The resource should have a basic understanding of networking, especially software-defined networking like ACI.
• 7. Certifications are not necessary, but having the basic ServiceNow developer certification is preferred.
• 8. The onboarding process for new hires can take around three to six weeks, including security checks and laptop setup.
• 9. The delivery manager will work closely with the team to expedite the onboarding process.
• 10. There is a possibility of contract extensions depending on funding availability.
