Description
• Candidate is responsible for the successful delivery and execution of the DD&I AWS cloud environment, SaaS vendors and cloud based application deployment.
• Build a cloud implementation from new/greenfield environment collaborating with external networking, and technology teams.
• Candidate will have broad decision-making ability to decide and build out technology foundational tools like Github, CloudChecker, Jira, Terraform/terragrunt, Atlantis, GitOps, helm charts, Jenkins
• Strong ongoing collaboration and attention to detail with data scientists, scientists to build technical computing environments.
• Ensures consideration of security, cost management, and modern cloud-native approaches ( elastic scaling, resiliency, spot instances, SCP policies ).
• Assist with automating and maintaining GxP validation solutions in the cloud environments and separate production tiers ( dev, pod, validation )
Responsibilities
- • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems, or related field
- • 5-10 years of progressively increasing responsibilities managing and/or architecting a complex AWS cloud environment using DevOps, IaaC ( Infrastructure as Code ), automation using Terraform , CloudFormation, Git and CI/CD driven development practices.
- • Experience implementing vendor SaaS solutions and cloud deployed applications in complex data-driven environments.
- • Agile approaches to building cloud native solutions using CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes, GitOPS, etc..
- • Familiarity with data lake, data warehouse or data lake environments and related topics
- • Excellent understanding of AWS engineering, best practices and AWS services, i.e. EC2. S3, Networking, IAM, and a specific emphasis with data driven services, i.e. RDS, NoSQL, Sagemaker, Glue, Redshift, etc.
- • Has implemented systems with a security mindset, AWS SCP, AWS organizations, KMS, networking, encryption, IAM and SSO .
- • Have a collaborative working approach, an ability to discuss and collaborate with users to devise and build technical solutions.
- • Has a proven track record to work with vendors to deploy external SaaS solutions and integrate with existing systems.
- • Strong automation and development skills in terraform ( mandatory ), CloudFormation, and other languages like Python, bash, and SDKs
- • Familiarity with (but need not be an expert ) with data lakes/ data environments including ETL, data catalogs, API interfaces.
- • Familiarity with Linux infrastructure and windows client machines
- • Involvement with architecture, engineering and deployment of cloud data lake/data hub for clinical environment.
