• 8+ years industry full cycle experience of SDLC methodologies and approaches including refining business requirements and defining functional specifications • Experience with Business Analysis implementing new technology as well as integration with accounting platforms is a must • Excellent conceptualization analytical and logic skills enabling comprehension and development of complex technical and business issues topics and plans • Excellent communications skills with the ability to work with business users as well as other members of the technical staff • Experience with the VPM fund accounting platform is preferred • Experience working with data warehouses and business intelligence platforms • Technical experience with application infrastructure including servers DB networking • Knowledge of credit instruments (Bank Loans Bonds Derivatives etc.) • Experience with SQL and development experience is preferred • Adept at listening and soliciting feedback middle office users and stakeholders • Must be self-directed and motivated while being a solid team player with a strong work ethic • Ability to thrive in a high-intensity faced paced environmentDescription
We are looking for a Technical Business Analyst to support the implementation of a Partnership Accounting System. This role requires a blend of both business and technical expertise to gather requirements, design solutions, and ensure seamless integration of the accounting system. The ideal candidate will have experience in financial systems, particularly partnership accounting, and will be capable of effectively engaging with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders from finance, accounting, IT, and external vendors to gather and document both business and technical requirements.
- · Process Analysis & Improvement: Analyze current accounting workflows to define system requirements and propose process improvements.
- · System Design & Implementation: Collaborate with software vendors and internal teams to design system configurations, integrations, and customizations.
- · Documentation: Define and document functional specifications, data models, and system workflows.
- · Data Migration Support: Assist with data migration activities, including mapping, validation, and reconciliation between legacy and new systems.
- · Testing & Issue Resolution: Participate in system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and coordinate defect resolution with IT and vendor teams.
- · Training & Change Management: Develop user training materials and support change management efforts.
- · Project Monitoring: Track project milestones and ensure delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
- · Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on partnership accounting and ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements.
- · Post-Implementation Support: Provide post-implementation support and troubleshooting to ensure system optimization.
Educational Requirements
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in the financial services or asset management industry.
- Experience working with marketing and distribution teams is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau).
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, JIRA).
- Familiarity with Data Warehousing and Master Data Management.
- Familiarity with CRM, marketing, and distribution tools (e.g., Salesforce, Pardot, Seismic, Cvent, On24, Google Analytics)
- Understanding of technology solutions and their application in marketing and distribution.
