Collaborate with product authoring and engineering teams to design seamless content migration from the current MayoClinic.org site to the new CMS ensuring consistency in design and functionality. -Maintain existing design patterns and components during the migration ensuring the visual integrity of the website is preserved. -Identify gaps in existing components and create new design elements or patterns as needed to support content migration. -Document and communicate the design requirements for new components working closely with engineering to ensure proper implementation within the CMS. -Develop clear comprehensive design guidelines and best practices for the content migration process. -Document any design-related aspects of the migration including instructions for future content authors on how to apply design components in the new CMS. -Review migrated content to ensure it aligns with the intended design ensuring visual consistency and quality across all pages. -Conduct design QA to identify and address issues related to design -Work closely with the product engineering and content teams to ensure the CMS migration process aligns with both design and technical requirements. -Provide ongoing design support to ensure smooth transitions throughout the migration process.Description
The Digital Product Designer will play a pivotal role in the successful migration of MayoClinic.org to a new Content Management System. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring that the design and experience of the website are seamlessly preserved during the migration process. You will collaborate with product, engineering, and content teams to maintain and enhance existing design patterns, create new components where necessary, and ensure that all content is optimized for consistency. This role also involves working with the brand and creative teams to select and prepare images, as well as developing design guidelines to ensure a smooth transition to the new CMS.
Responsibilities
- Proven experience in UI and UX design, ideally within large-scale websites.
- Experience with web content management systems and content migration processes.
- Strong proficiency in Figma.
- Solid understanding of web standards, responsive design, and accessibility best practices.
- Experience creating and documenting design styles, patterns, and components.
- Strong attention to detail and an eye for design consistency across various digital platforms.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with HTML/CSS and basic web development is a plus.
- Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) is a plus.
