Provide expert technical skills, guidance, direction, and leadership in regard to the firm’s selection and use of technologies. Lead the firms IT functions. Determine long-term needs and pursue purchases and contracts that will aid in accomplishing business objectives. Responsible for budgeting, strategic planning and forecasting. Rely on extensive knowledge and professional discretion to achieve goals. IT focus and specialize in the Broker Dealer business, client service and regulatory requirements. Hands on technically in all aspects of VMs and Storage experts IT.
Responsibilities
- Enterprise Infrastructure Architect - Assess system requirements and ensure that systems can be integrated with existing applications. Design high level solutions for entire firms infrastructure needs. Ensure optimal performance for all systems. Offer support to other departments, as needed. Possess extensive knowledge of infrastructure, web and software applications. Rely on extensive knowledge and professional discretion to achieve goals. Report to senior management.
- Virtulization Engineer - D esign, install, configure and deploy software based virtual servers, desktops and appliances for employees and firm business systems. Use of VMware vSphere/vCenter and VMware suite to secure the virtualization needs to utilize the advantages of virtualizing a datacenter. Using VMware hypervisor and Citrix Xendesktop to deliver virtual desktops to our London office. Deploying, maintain and delivering applications for firm needs through the use of Citrix XenApp. Gateway access delivery via Citrix Netscaler for Equity and Fixed Income based clients.
- Business Continuity Administrator– Provide expertise in evaluating facility continuity of operations planning with a focus on policies, plans, procedures, training, equipment, and organizational response to a wide variety of business interruptions. Assist in the development, implementation, testing, and maintenance of the continuity of operations program. Develop continuity tests, trainings, and exercises including SFIMA testing as well as internal testing with employees. Identifies personnel needed to implement plan.
- Technical Writer- Write, edit and package a variety of technical documents, including proposals , reports and manuals. Rely on established guidelines and instructions to perform daily job functions. Maintain records and files of work and revisions. Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers or personnel. Review published materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction and binding.
- IT Project Manager - Run complex projects from design and development to production. Define requirements and plan project lifecycle deployment. Define resources and schedule for project/program implementation. Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning. Efficiently identify and solve project issues.
- Data Center Supervisor- Responsible for the functionality of the entire Data Center. Which includes Power requirements, HVAC cooling and CRAC unites, chiller plant, UPS and Generator. Point of contact and leas with vendors for installations of related equipment, failover outages and new scopes of work. BMS system support for Datacenter related equipment and environmental. All structured cabling needs: design, installation and decision.
- Storage Engineer - design, configuration, administration, implementation, and support of a variety of storage solutions with a focus on NetApp NAS deployment and cisco fiber channel backbone. Configuration of new storage arrays, delivery volumes/luns to the virtualization environment as well as cluster services. Configuration of SnapVault and SnapMirror for securing, replicating and backing up data. Implement and configure cisco MDS and Nexus fabric for FC & ISCSI backbone storage infrastructure. Shaping aggregates and carving space to fit the needs of each deployment with projection of future use.
- Data Backup and Restoration- Implement and maintain backup solutions: Choose and configure backup software, hardware, or cloud services. Establish backup schedules and retention policies. Monitor backup processes to ensure they are running correctly. Test backups periodically to verify data recoverability. Troubleshoot and resolve backup-related issues. Provide training and support for end-users on data restoration procedures.
